Employers Slashing Hours to Cut Costs

The 15 hour Workweek; Canada’s Part-time Problem

When you get below 15hrs a week you’re getting into corruption level; the employer is cutting costs and the employee suffers the brunt of it. Job insecurity; the possibility of hours getting cut even further if complaints are made and there is no protection from the government against these practices. Families are getting torn apart due to lack of money resulting in community interventions by social services alleging neglect by parents who are struggling financially under the burden of saving the employers some money. This all under the guise of being gainfully employed.

When a company pulls this sort of cost-cutting measure and harms a family to the point of irreparable harm, the company needs to be brought to account and fined severely with perhaps the company being liable for damages to be paid to the employee.

However business owners will cry foul at any rate and they are protected under current labour laws with no mandatory minimum hours which in essence allows an employer all the leverage to hold you on the books limiting other employment opportunities by the intention of having you on call while holding a metaphorical gun to your head saying that “if you don’t make yourself available; we’ll find cause to terminate your employment.”

This type of employment practice is unethical in any sense of the word. Essentially you are an employee with low to no hours. What is even more unethical is that labour laws allow this and there needs to be drastic changes made. If the British Columbia Labour Standards Board won’t start amending their laws to prevent this sort of behaviour by employers; then they are just as complicit in the harm that is being done to families who have part-time family members being underutilized.

And they should be held accountable for damages and punished.

Grand Mondial Scam

If there's one thing that pisses me off, it's those who prey on the most vulnerable in society - the ones who are indigent yet look for some ray of hope and THESE scammers have pissed me off immensely, just by using Universal Basic Income as a hook for their bullshit. These fuckers need to be outed. The nerve of these online casinos. http://trendingnewsdesk.com/UBI-c/#forward
First they try a hook in order to get gullible people to read the fake article, cleverly dressed up to look like a CBC article. One of the things that should stand out significantly that it's a fake article is the simple fact that the Governor General of Canada is no longer Adrienne Clarkson who is featured prominently in this stolen photo. Our current Governor General is Julie Payette. Clarkson was in office as Governor General from October 7, 1999 – February 27, 2005, during the terms of Prime Ministers Jean Chretien and Paul Martin. She was succeeded in office by MichaĆ«lle Jean (September 27, 2005 – October 1, 2010) and David Johnston (October 1, 2010 – October 2, 2017) They stole the photo from The Ismaili website from an event in 2014 to celebrate Mawlana Hazar Imam’s landmark address to Parliament.
They make a fake claim with a made up person (CBC has no one named Michael Forer working for them). And these pathetic scammers can't even keep their made up CBC reporter's name straight - note how it changes to David in the middle of the paragraph.
Then they sucker the gullible in for a “try your hand at winning” with the hidden implication that if you do, you’re helping pay for Canadian Universal Basic Income…(which was cancelled in Ontario, and is still in the gathering information stage in BC) and a whole pile of third-world country testimonials of veracity (from people who evidently are not living in Canada by their use of the English language which is far from Canadian vernacular)
As you can tell, they don’t use colloquial Canadian English. And I wonder how many profile pictures they’ve stolen from legitimate FB users to come up with their fake testimonials. Also to prove that this photo is fake…
The original photo appeared in the Daily Mail with the same photograph under the heading “Utah GOP Faithful Backs Ex-Legislator for Chaffetz’s Seat”.
The gentleman whose photo was stolen by these unscrupulous con artists at Grand Mondial Casinos to fake their stolen CBC fake news article is actually Stewart Peay from Salt Lake City who is an actual lawyer and would have a case for defamation if he so chooses to pursue it from that online Casino. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/article-4614286/Utah-GOP-faithful-backs-ex-legislator-Chaffetzs-seat.html Oh…and the so-called CBC reporter called Michael Forer…turns out he doesn’t exist.
They stole the name of a guy from the UK who isn’t in any media capacity. Seems like he’d have a good case for defamation too. So Grand Mondial Casino, the jokes on you. You’ve just been outed to the CBC who might consider suing you for use of their intellectual property.
